One our top support topics!

As you know, we currently require customers to have Open AI API access.

With this dependency, we wanted to highlight some issues that we’ve seen and also let you know how to troubleshoot any issue.

1. Your OPEN AI Account: No matter your Open AI Account (Non-paid, paid, ChatGPT +), you still have to apply to GPT 4 API access. Chat GPT+ does not automatically come with GPT-4 API access. We highly recommend you apply today –> https://openai.com/waitlist/gpt-4-api

* If you get a Cuppa error saying “GPT-4 Model does not exist”, you do not have access to GPT4 API. **We will update this error message soon to explain it more and more importantly, direct you to apply.

What is in store in the future? We are going to look to add additional models to access, including building our and training our own.

2. OPEN AI Rate Limits or Server Issues: No matter your Open AI Account (Non-paid or paid), every account has rate limits and Cuppa is subject to those limits. Meaning, if Open AI is down, slow, or throttling, you will notice it in Cuppa. *We put a OPEN AI STATUS in the App*. Rate limits can be found here: https://platform.openai.com/docs/guides/rate-limits/overview.

* Free accounts are at the lowest pecking order in terms of priority. (Grant tokens usually have the most issues for us)

** We are working on a few different solutions for this if the Open AI API is causing completion issues.

3. Common Issues we have seen with OPEN AI: If you are trying to generate an article and nothing is happening, try to reset your Open AI API keys. Go to your account and create a new key and drop it in Cuppa. *Most* of the time this fixes the issue and it will generate the article for you. Also, just be sure your are copying and pasting exactly the key. Extra spaces or deleted characters in they key will render it non-functional.

What to do if nothing is generating with Cuppa?

If you have successfully added your Open AI keys and built articles with Cuppa before and for some reason it isn’t working (zero generation), it is one of three things. 1) The Open AI keys need a reset in your Open AI Account 2) Open AI Server or Rate limits are having issues 3) You do not have access to the model you’ve selected (usually GPT-4)
