Updated July 27th, 2023.

We wanted to compile a list of all the issues & accompanying troubleshooting actions that we have seen to date.

Cuppa just stops after 150-200 words.

This is something we see unfortunately a lot within GPT 3.5. In our testing (which is now in the thousands of articles across GPT 3.5 & GPT 4), 99% of the time we have seen this error, it is when Cuppa is toggled to GPT 3.5.

Troubleshooting Actions that we have seen work to fix this.

  • Refresh your Open AI API keys. To do so, go to your platform account with Open AI and delete your current keys and build a new one to drop into Cuppa.
  • Head over to Incognito mode and retry your prompt
  • Try changing your prompt to the original “scuba” prompt to see if it works.
  • Make sure there is no issue with OpenAI Servers or Rate Limits. We have added a STATUS report to the left hand tool bar for your assistance.

Cuppa generates an error saying GPT 4 Model does not exit.

This means that you do not have access to GPT 4 yet. As a reminder, you have to apply to join the waitlist to get access to GPT 4 API. We also wrote and article about Open AI support HERE.

Troubleshooting Actions that we have seen work to fix this.

  • Switch to 3.5 and try running your prompt again
  • Make sure there is no issue with OpenAI Servers or Rate Limits. We have added a STATUS report to the left hand tool bar for your assistance.

**UPDATE: In early July, Open AI announced that GPT-4 API will be made available to all PAYING CUSTOMERS (Pay as you go) after a “few bills have been paid”. We suspect that most nearly everyone will have access to GPT-4 API this summer.

Cuppa doesn’t generate anything at all.

This is something we are seeing less of in terms of customers saying this, but we do have troubleshooting items for you with regards to this.

**UPDATE: If you are a NEW OPEN AI CUSTOMER (API), you need to add your payment details to your Platform OPEN AI Account to get full functionality working.

WordPress connection is not working.

We wrote an entire article about this HERE.

Troubleshooting Actions that we have seen work to fix this.

  • Check/ask your developer whether there might be anything in place regarding your hosting that would prevent Cuppa from accessing your site’s WordPress REST API.
  • Review your security plugins, possibly disabling any that might prevent external services from sending requests to your site via the REST API.

Cuppa’s generated content is not up to par.

While we don’t see this complaint often, we so see it associated with GPT 3.5. It is true, GPT 3.5 is definitely more prone to the common AI errors that you might be accustomed to seeing if you generate a lot of AI content. We are working on a lot of GPT 3.5 fixes, including:

  • Content Saving
  • Continue Button
  • Avoiding Repetition (in summary, in conclusion — these are unfortunately used frequently with AI).
  • Adding additional prompts for outlines and improvements.
